The weather office says another system is bearing down on the south coast and could dump more snow on higher elevations by Thursday night, but forecasters expect slightly warmer temperatures mean the precipitation could fall as rain at lower levels.

The snowfall warning first announced Sunday and renewed for two more days is finally over, but flurries are still in the forecast, it turns out.

However, accumulation of between five to ten centimetres is still expected in most areas.

This disturbance will spread snow to virtually the entire South Coast with heaviest amounts falling tonight on Vancouver Island and the North Shore.

On Tuesday, February 12, both Vancouver and Toronto witnessed a blistering amount of snow.

While the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows school district had initially announced their schools would be open, district officials quickly reversed the decision and said their schools would also close for a snow day.

It's now snowing in Vancouver and what a sight it is.

As usual, passengers were reminded to check with their individual airlines for updates and allow extra time to make their way through the airport and security.
