Kansas City Chiefs bring back Keith Reaser from AAF

One day after the Alliance of American Football League folded, the former Chiefs cornerback signed with his old team, a source confirmed to The Star.

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Keith Reaser (40) celebrated after recovering a fumble after ennessee Titans' Adoree' Jackson (25) fumbled during the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans football game at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, January 6, 2018, in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Chiefs will give Reaser $100,000 up front in the form of a $50,000 signing bonus, a $25,000 workout bonus and a $25,000 roster bonus, the source said. After just two weeks, he earned himself honors as the highest graded cornerback, with a rating of 90.6 according to Pro Football Focus. Reaser's last chance with the Chiefs ended in his release, but, with a second chance to prove himself, perhaps it's his time to contribute in the NFL. The Chiefs initially signed Reaser to the practice squad back in 2017. He was but was waived-injured during training camp.

The AAF suspended operations earlier this week and announced Thursday that all of the league's players were allowed to sign with NFL teams.

Reaser, the 49ers' fifth-round pick in 2014, played for the Orlando Apollos of the AAF, making three interceptions in eight games. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and grew up in Winston-Salem, N.C.
