"The thing is ... it's not a mystery, this was a smear attack by a writer trying to advance his career talking with mostly irrelevant, bitters players who all have an agenda", he said to ESPN Milwaukee's Wilde and Tausch on Monday.

He also went off on former teammates Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley, saying those are the only names that keep popping up in stories that question Rodgers' ability to be a good leader and teammate. He sees the relationship Brady has cultivated with Julian Edelman, with all of his receivers, and says, 'Everyone wants that.' Those two spend time together off the field, and it carries into what matters on the field. And two, which goes into my second central thesis point that I'm going to take down, is if I really disliked Mike [McCarthy] so much, why would I re-sign knowing that if I play and we do what we do around here - we made the playoffs eight straight years and then I got hurt and we missed the playoffs - it's going to be me and Mike my entire career. So if I really disliked him that much, do you think I'd re-sign? And before I get into what actually happened in the conversation with Mark, I want to say two things: One, if they knew that, why would they offer me a contract past year? Is the money that important to me?

He told the show's host and audience that more than 100 current and former players and coaches have reached out to him since the story's publication. "Quality of life is important". "I was 15 feet away in the locker room from you for years", Rodgers added.

While Rodgers didn't deny that the two had disagreements and that he was frustrated with McCarthy at times, he said he it didn't get in the way.

Rodgers disputed claims about McCarthy and acknowledged they have had issues in the past but always dealt with them face to face. So, I think we're in alignment there because, like I said before, this game is about winning. We had a hell of a run. My favor that I would ask of you, strongly, is if you see Mike, shake his hand.
