Burnley boss Dyche not relaxing after win over Cardiff City

Neil Warnock was left absolutely furious by refereeing decisions once again as Cardiff lost 2-0 to Burnley.

If Cardiff and Neil Warnock are, as looks increasingly likely, on their way out of the Premier League in the coming days, for once in his eventful career the veteran manager wants to go quietly.

"It is a big gap and an important gap, it was a massive game and we know we have a tough run in, everyone has been telling me that for months".

"The lads have been terrific. The history of the Premier League suggests we are in a very strong position".

Dyche felt his side were good value for the win, after a dominant first half, although the second was a nervy affair until Chris Wood claimed his second goal to kill off the visitors. I think they've come out with a right decision there.

Cardiff felt aggrieved at having a potential penalty for handball against Ben Mee overruled at 1-0, but Dyche noted: "I wasn't pleased but I will explain why".

"The referee hasn't given it and I think the referee has officiated that very well". It's the right decision in the end.

Southampton beat Wolves 3-1 at St Mary's Stadium with two goals from Nathan Redmond and one from Shane Long to move eight points ahead of Cardiff in 16th.

Mee inadvertently diverted the ball down on to himself, moments after the Burnley defender blocked Harry Arter's shot with his arm. Then the cross comes in and he has ducked into the cross and it comes in late and as he is going to head it, it hits him on his face and then his hand. I'm looking forward to hearing what they [the officials] say - I'm sure when I get in there they'll all be singing from the same hymn sheet.
