As she does so, one officer grabs her and moves her toward the stairs.

According to NBC Chicago, 16-year-old Dnigma Howard was initially charged with two counts of aggravated battery because CPD officials alleged that she was the aggressor in the situation.

Details from this video negate the original statements filed by the officers following the January 29 attack in which they claim Dnigma initiated contact, forcing all three to fall down the stairs.

According to the lawsuit, and the video obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, it appears the officers also held Howard down, while stepping on her chest, according to an amended lawsuit filed Thursday by Stroth.

The video shows that the girl did not assault them as the officers had previously said, the lawsuit states.

In the cell phone footage Dnigma is seen on the floor as two officers stand over her.

However, Howard has maintained that she was asked to speak to a school counselor, a resource she is required to have available to her as a part of her Individualized Education Program. The incident occurred at Marshall High School on the West Side of the Windy City in February.

Police said the officers did everything they could to protect her and wanted her recharged.

Distressing footage has emerged of two Chicago cops tasering a 16-year-old girl at her high school. Howard watches on as officers push his child toward the staircase and begin using excessive force.

Howard admitted that she was resisting officers at first, but only acted in her own defense responding to their actions.

Previous footage recorded by the girl's father captured the ugly interaction.

"The city of Chicago's lack of directives, oversight and standards pertaining to its police officers in its schools has resulted in the violation of students' civil rights and unnecessarily involved students in the criminal justice system", the lawsuit said. The two are no longer working at the school, and one is reportedly out due to "injury on duty".

"We are deeply disturbed and troubled by this incident which has no place in our schools", she said in a statement.

Police spokesman Thomas Ahern said officials can not comment on the new video since the incident is being investigated by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

A report from the Inspector General's Office past year was critical of the way police officers are used in CPS schools, finding neither institution kept track of which schools the officers worked at and asserting that officers lacked specific training in how to approach conflicts with students.

Stroth said CPD officers should not be in Chicago schools.

Ahern said police are forming procedures for officers who work in schools.

"Mayor-elect Lightfoot needs to address the issue of police in schools immediately", Stroth said. The city's Law Department says it doesn't comment on pending litigation.
