Third round play of the Masters at Augusta National

Tiger Woods clinched his fifth Masters and 15th major title to seal one of the greatest comeback stories in sports after overcoming career-threatening back problems.

It marks his 15th major title and his first since 2008.

In addition to receiving the legendary green jacket, Tiger Woods will take home $2.07 million in prize money for winning the 2019 Masters.

Only fellow American Nicklaus has won more Masters, with six.

Tiger Woods wasn't the only big victor after the conclusion of the final round of the Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

Woods held off Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffele, who each finished at -12. But after a birdie on the 14th hole combined with a massive meltdown by Molinari, Tiger was able to take a commanding lead to the final holes. Another birdie on the short 16th ignited thunderous roars which reverberated around the towering pines as Woods marched off with a two-shot lead and a thousand-yard stare in scenes reminiscent of his heyday. Sam Snead won the first green jacket and Augusta National ended up awarding one to all the past winners as well.
