Jamal Murray just couldn't get the bad taste out of his mouth, and even a bite of pretzel he poached from a kid after tumbling into the stands in the third quarter wasn't exactly satisfying.

Murray said seeing all the fans waving their playoff towels reminded him of his childhood dream of playing in front of a sold-out playoff crowd.

Murray's 21 fourth-quarter points represented the highest total seen in the National Basketball Association playoffs in a half-decade.

"Everybody told me to stick with it", Murray said. I just stuck with it. Now they're -7 for Game 2. We have a heart. The Nuggets trailed by as much as 19 points in the 3rd quarter before Murray's comeback.

"We gave up 38 points (actually, 39) in the fourth quarter".

Gregg Popovich loves himself some Denver.

"Never once did I think about pulling him from the lineup", Malone said.

The Spurs lead the series, 1-0, after a 101-96 win in game one.

The other challenging aspect of guarding San Antonio is the various shooters they can bring off the bench, especially Davis Bertans. "To pull this one off the way we did, was unbelievable". "We did that a couple of times in the first game but have to work on our technique a little bit and be a little better for it tonight". "He's big, strong and skilled, so doubling him definitely affected his shot attempts (in game 1)". I let the crowd, the wonderful energy, get to me. The key was to continue to take shots. If you miss them, so what?

Malone said he was bursting with pride over Murray's phenomenal bounce-back.

"He was so frustrated at halftime, not making shots, shots that he's made his whole career", Malone recounted. "I was hot and I chose to pull up". You're putting too much pressure on yourself.

"Every time he put it down, there was somebody right there". I believe in you.

"It was great to see him have some success". Really happy for Jamal and for him to step up and basically close the game out with his shot-making that he had down the stretch.

First, I'll address the glaring issue: DeRozan's shooting percentage.

The Spurs blew a golden opportunity to take complete control of their playoff series against Denver by blowing a big second half lead in a 114-105 Game 2 loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday night.

Murray tried to set off the Pepsi Center at the start of Game 2 but missed what would have been a thunderous dunk early. "We understood it wasn't going to be a cakewalk". In 2016, DeRozan's field goal percentage plummeted from 44.6 percent to 39.4 percent, in 2017 it fell from 46.7 percent to 43.4 percent, and past year in 2018 his average declined from 45.6 percent to 43.7 percent, which marks DeRozan's highest shooting percentage over five postseason appearances.

DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs with 31 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 24 for San Antonio. The Spurs, meanwhile, scored just 23 points as a team in the final 12 minutes. He's an integral part of this Nuggets team which won 54 games during the regular season.
