Villa booked their place in the play-off final after going all the way to a penalty shoot-out against Albion.

Jed Steer saved twice to secure Villa's second trip to Wembley in two years, with Tammy Abraham netting the decisive spot-kick sparking jubilant celebrations in the away end.

Villa, relegated in 2016, will hope to avoid a repeat of previous year when they lost to Fulham in the playoff final.

"All of us are very hungry and have good legs in us".

After West Brom won the second leg 1-0 to finish 2-2 on aggregate, penalties were used to decide the match after nobody scored in extra time.

Craig Dawson's first-half header brought the Baggies level in the tie, but after captain Chris Brunt received a red card with 10 minutes of regulation time remaining, Villa assumed full control.

"There's obviously a lot of luck involved but wow - we practise penalties, so I think I must've faced 100 a day the last few days", Steer said.

The Championship playoff final is regarded as the most lucrative match in world soccer with last year's clash between Fulham and Villa worth about 170 million pounds ($219.44 million) even if, as in Fulham's case, the victor is relegated after one season in the top flight.
