What's interesting here is they've said he's signed on to the "sequels", as opposed to just Avatar 2: Pandora Boogaloo*, which means Clement could be in for the long haul.

If we're going to get Avatar sequels until the end of time itself, and based on the number of them now planned and how far into the future Disney has scheduled them to arrive in theaters we are, we hope they make them good. Cameron initially envisioned two sequels, but after meeting with the screenwriters, artists and designers, realized he had too much material and extended his plans to four movies in total.

Subsequently, the other sequels have moved to 2023, 2025 and 2027. Although Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 will only be released with director James Cameron's caveat that Avatar 2 and 3 are successful at the box office.

Cameron and Jon Landau are producing through their Lightstorm Entertainment company. Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver. The script was written by Cameron with Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Shane Salerno.

As well as finding fame with Bret McKenzie in Flight of the Conchords, Clement is the co-creator of TV comedy series What We Do in the Shadows, based on his and Taika Waititi's 2014 vampire mockumentary of the same name. He also starred opposite Dan Stevens in FX's drama series "Legion".
