HP embraces natural wood look with its latest premium Envy laptops

If you've ever yearned for a laptop or convertible that matches the aesthetics of your grandparent's station wagon, you might want to start saving now for HP's latest Envy Wood Series lineup, which the company says should be available sometime this fall.

HP is no stranger to making laptops out of unusual materials - such as the leather-bound HP Spectre Folio - and at Computex 2019, the company has revealed its releasing its Envy range of laptops with bodies that are partially made out of wood.

The inlays will come in two designs-or species-of wood: the darker walnut, or a lighter birch (wood-free variants will also be available).

The four models, called ENVY 13, ENVY x360 13, ENVY x360 15, and ENVY 17 will go on sale later this year, according to HP itself, but specifics would only be shared closer to launch. And the wood-inlaid Envy 17 will only be offered in traditional clamshell form. The wood covers the palm rest and touchpad, and the wood grain patterns will vary from laptop to laptop.

If you're looking for a laptop with premium materials, you might check out the offerings of HP, which has lately been enthusiastic about the idea. The new Wood Series also comes with Intel's 10th gen processors or AMD's 2nd Ryzen Mobile processors with Radeon Vega Graphics.
