Has Akram admitted Pakistan have no chance of beating India in their World Cup clash?

The Cricket World Cup 2019 has already become the most-rain affected World Cup in the history of the sport. Ahead of the match, Pakistan cricket board (PCB) chief Ehsan Mani said his team will not beg to play cricket with their neighbours.

"In 1999 we had such a big team with so many big names that if we had pressurized the board to give permission to have our wives and children stay with us in team hotel they would have done so".

Mani also made it clear that despite the continued suspension of bilateral cricket between Pakistan and India, the relations between the two boards remained cordial. "That is what happened in 99' in England", Yousuf said.

India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since January 2013.

"If it was necessary to appease the players they could have been allowed to have their wives and children at the start of the tournament, not at the business end of the World Cup". And looks like rain will continue to play spoilsport in the up and coming games as well.

"By having matches of the PSL at home, we will be seeing the franchisers of the teams reaping the benefits by earning revenue which they could not due to matches at the UAE", said the PCB chairman.

He further revealed PCB's plans to resume global cricket in Pakistan and said that they will host Sri Lanka in September for two Test matches in what would be a part of the ICC Test Championship which will be spread over two years, concluding in 2021.
