Warner Bros studios on fire: 75 fire fighters scramble to iconic Harry Potter set

A 75-strong force and more than 15 fire engines are now fighting the inferno, which reportedly sparked at around 11:30pm last night in one of the stages.

A spokeswoman for Warner Bros Studios said earlier that the studios and tours were open.

No injuries have been reported, and the fire is said to have started on a sound stage not now in use.

Yahoo Films UK has contact Warner Bros for remark. United Kingdom film studios where the James Bond and Harry Potter franchises have been filmed.

By 8.00 a.m. BST (2 a.m. ET) 15 fire crews were at the blaze, which was first reported at approximately 11.30 p.m. BST, officials stated.

Crews were called to the film studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, at 23:29 BST on Wednesday.

Mark Hancock, who lives nearby, said: 'My house is only about 200m away from the perimeter fence and we have a clear line of sight over gardens so we managed to see it out one of our windows.

The incident began late on Wednesday evening, with nearby residents seeing smoke rising from the lot.

He added there was a "strong smell and taste of smoke in the air".

Public studio tours are reportedly unaffected and taking place as usual.
