Warner Bros studio, which owns the rights, is owned by AT&T, as is WarnerMedia. Upcoming projects include "Dune: The Sisterhood", a series from director Denis Villeneuve; "The Flight Attendant", a thriller series starring Kaley Cuoco from executive producer Greg Berlanti ("Riverdale"); and "Love Life", an anthology series starring and produced by Anna Kendrick.

HBO Max will also carry original shows and movies. The company didn't go into further detail.

HBO Max is scheduled to launch in spring 2020 and anticipated to premier with 10,000 hours of premium content.

Programming from HBO will also be offered, with the premium United States cablenet's forthcoming slate including shows such as Stephen King's The Outsider, as well as series from sibling networks such as TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

Although WarnerMedia has not revealed how much HBO Max will cost to receive, CNN reports that it is likely to be slightly more than HBO Now, at $14.99 a month, a considerably more than Netflix, Hulu, and the upcoming streaming service Disney+. AT&T-owned WarnerMedia, which unveiled its management team in March, also already offers standalone service HBO Now, which costs $15 in the United States and is available from multiple cable operators.

Currently, Netflix is airing "Friends" and paid AT&T some $80 million for the opportunity to stream it on its service this year.
