- Leland Chapman, the son of Dog the Bounty Hunter, was reportedly hospitalized in Alabama this week due to an injury sustained while he was on a manhunt mission with his father - who was back at work for the first time after his wife's death. "Beth isn't dead", he said, "she's sleeping".

"I loved her so much", he said.

"The last few moments she said, 'Come in here right now, in the bathroom, ' " he recounted.

Even though she was trying to free her husband, he said no one will ever take her place.

Duane continued to ET, "And I didn't even make a decision, I nearly said, 'I can't.' Before I could say, 'Alright, ' she couldn't breathe and I called the ambulance ..."

The famed bounty hunter also revealed how both he and his wife needed therapy to deal with the reality of their situation after her health took a toll in September 2017, causing her to reveal her cancer diagnosis to close friends and family.

Fans will get a chance to see Dog and Leland on screen again before that, though it will be for a more emotional experience: Beth Chapman's live-streamed service that's taking place in Colorado. He has her ashes, and it was her desire that he scatter part of them and keep part of them so that when he, too, is cremated, part of them can be together. We all love you, Beth. I have a lot of people who depend on me. "I just throw you away and start over?"

While he's "trying to man up" for his family, the loss is still fresh.

A memorial service was held on June 29 in her more recent home state of Hawaii.
