The man was driving a vehicle which crossed the median and hit a giant saguaro cactus on Wednesday, according to Pima County Sheriff's Department.

A very sticky situation for a driver in Arizona who amazingly escaped injury after going off the roadway and having his car's windshield impaled by a saguaro cactus.

The saguaro cactus splintered on impact and the part that broke off ended up partially inside the black sports auto, breaking through the windshield and jutting out onto the hood of the vehicle.

After the Pima County Sheriff's Department arrived at the scene took Kai Scott into police custody for driving under the influence and criminal damages.

The crash left the driver with minor injuries. "That one right there, it could be one ton or 1,000 pounds". Native to the Sonora Desert and one of the many agricultural icons of the southwestern United States, saguaros can grow to be over 40 feet tall with a girth of around 10 feet.

Claudia Figueroa, on behalf of AZ Cactus Experts, the wreck could have been much worse.

"I saw the picture".
