Jason Momoa's New Show Costs As Much As 'Game Of Thrones'

With the amount of - and quality of - original content being produced by the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and of course Apple TV+, a content arms race has begun between all of the major players to produce bigger and better shows, attracting big-name actors which will lend credibility to the services and attract wider audiences.

According to the report, Apple is shelling out almost $15 million per episode on the Jason Momoa series See. Game of Thrones had a similar budget for its final season, but that was after eight seasons and the series had developed a huge following. The report mentions that Disney's upcoming Star Wars series The Mandalorian has seen its budget reach that level after initial reports pegged its budget at $10 million per episode.

There's no doubt that Apple has the money and muscle to make its upcoming streaming service a success, but it will be interesting to see if it will be able to upend the current status quo in the industry.

If you're the type of person that loves bang for their buck and big budget productions, Jason Momoa's new show on Apple TV+ is definitely for you.

Apple TV+ is launching in the fall, but it's still not clear if See will be available to stream immediately or some time after.
