Up to three Jet2 flights were affected by the incident.

A drone sighting has been reported but this has not yet been confirmed. Other flights have been placed on hold.

The reports caused major disruption, affecting approximately 140,000 passengers and 1,000 flights.

Arrivals and departures at Leeds Bradford International Airport in Yorkshire, Northern England were suspended Friday afternoon due to reports of a drone sighting in the area.

"At 13:55 today, an inbound flight spotted a drone on approach to Leeds Bradford Airport".

It remains unknown how many drones were senate the airport.

'To be clear, this is *not* an Extinction Rebellion action and not something we'd support'.

"We're obviously deeply concerned about aviation emissions and opposed to LBA expansion - but we'd never endanger lives by putting drones near flights without warning anyone".
