"The NFL is basically saying it's ok for you to go to Vegas, get obliterated and then go shove people into fences", Kyle Johnson said in an interview with KVVU-TV. That changed when the National Football League decided against disciplining Elliott for the incident in question.

Elliott would be placed in handcuffs briefly and Las Vegas police would later determine he did not apply the type of force necessary to create the fall.

The video evidence is clear that Elliott knocked Johnson to the ground. The running back also didn't give Johnson the genuine apology he sought. Elliott publicly expressed regret about the situation, saying his first apology to Johnson was honest.

"Just very unsympathetic. Like, "I have to do this, I'm being forced to do this".

"I've had a lot of angry Cowboys fans threaten me over social media and that kind of thing", said Johnson.

Police must launch an investigation before deciding whether to charge Elliott.

In a statement sent to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Saturday, Elliott's attorneys accused Johnson of trying to extort their client.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott might be off the hook when it comes to any discipline from the National Football League stemming from a May incident in Las Vegas. Elliott and his legal team are contacting the proper authorities in hopes of resolving the issue.

"Way out of control", Johnson told a CBS affiliate.

The two-time National Football League rushing leader is entering his fourth season with Dallas and won't become an unrestricted free agent until 2021. However, he's been involved in several off-field incidents during his brief career.
