Manchester City beat Liverpool and Manchester United to sign Aston Villa wonderkid Kane Taylor

Manchester City have signed another one of the most highly-rated teenagers in the country, agreeing compensation with Aston Villa for their former academy midfielder Kane Taylor, who was pursued by numerous Premier League's biggest clubs.

City also signed 14-year-old Bolton forward Daniel Ogwuru in June.

The Premier League champions saw off competitions from Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal to sign Taylor.

Taylor is a left-footed midfielder who will go into City's Under-16s squad next season.

They add that City are not set to pay a big compensation fee because Taylor had de-registered at Villa and was available for £129,000 under the Elite Player Performance Plan tariffs.
