UFC Fighter Mike Perry Got His Nose Shattered

UFC fighters Mike Perry and Raulian Paiva suffered horrific facial injuries on a bloody night of MMA action in Uruguay.

He also commented on the knee that obliterated his nose.

As the two welterweight fighters fell to the canvas, a stream of blood poured from Perry's Z-shaped nose. In the second round, Luque came back strongly.

That's the only way to describe what happened to the American's nose during his split decision defeat to Vicente Luque ahead of Valentina Shevchenko's title fight against Liz Carmouche. Luque called out Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson for a fight in his post-fight interview, and it appears it's a fight the UFC is considering booking.

While Luque was crowned the victor, the damage to Perry's nose wasn't entirely for nothing-the match was named Fight of the Night and both men walked away with an extra $50,000.

Per ESPN's Heidi Androl, Perry was eventually taken to a hospital for a CT scan after having trouble breathing after the fight.

Perry underwent surgery hours after the match at a hospital in Montevideo.

Perry's manager Abraham Kawa told ESPN that the fighter is expected to stay in Uruguay for a few days. Kawa said he had some previous fractures in his nose that had to be taken care, as well, so the surgery was a bit lengthy.

By the looks of his nose though, it might be a couple of months at least until we see him fighting again.
