In a report just published by the Daily Mail, a body was reportedly found as search and rescue (SAR) efforts to locate missing Franco-Irish teenager Nora Quoirin were underway.

No official statement has been issued by police as of yet, with United Kingdom charity Lucie Blackman Trust saying they are still waiting for clarification.

The 15-year-old girl reportedly has a condition called holoprosencephaly, causing her to have mental and physical disabilities, according to her parents.

Nora Quoirin, who has special needs, disappeared from her room at the Dusun resort on 4 August.

The state police chief added that a forensic examination would be carried out to determine if the body was male or female. "We are appealing to anyone, anyone who has any information to find Nora".

And a shaman drafted in by police to help with the search claimed missing Nora had been lured away from the eco-resort in Malaysia by a "genie".

A police officer told the Mirror: "We think we have found a body, but we need to confirm it is her".

Authorities have been treating Nora's disappearance as a missing persons case, but her family have said they believe she may have been abducted.

She has an Irish passport and hasn't been seen since Sunday.

Nora was reported missing on August 4 after her father discovered she had gone and a downstairs window was wide open.

He said the body was found at 1.57 pm.

District police chief Supt Mohd Nor Marzukee Besar in a WhatsApp message earlier informed the media that they could continue to join the operation for the second consecutive day today.

Her mother, Meabh, who is from Belfast, has made a series of emotional pleas for help in finding her daughter.
