Tierney's departure drew a mixed response from the Celtic faithful with some struggling to comprehend why the 22-year-old would leave his boyhood heroes.

"All the lads are delighted for him", the 34-year-old said ahead of Celtic's Champions League qualifier against Cluj.

Naturally, though, that means some of our better players are going to be attracting interest and it seems as though James Forrest is seeing that happen right now. Here's hoping we get to the Champions League though.

"When you look at it, he came through the youth, he has supported Celtic all the way through, he has not cost the club a penny and we have sold him for £25million". They can come back as well, that's what this club is all about, he said.

Tierney returned to Celtic's Lennoxtown training ground on Sunday to say goodbye to his team-mates, something which was welcomed by manager Neil Lennon.

According to the Scottish Sun, Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg are readying a £12m bid for the player and also want to pay him handsomely too.

But finally, Celtic caved in and let Kieran Tierney have his dream move as the Premier League side announced the signing on the final day of the transfer window.
