'Friends' episodes to screen in theaters for 25th anniversary

While it would've been awesome if they did an actual new movie with the original cast, it turns out that it's going to be a screening of no less than 12 fan-favorite episodes over the course of three nights in theaters.

Friends is turning 25, and the franchise is inviting fans to theaters for a limited-time-only celebration. See Friends the way it was literally never meant to be seen: On a giant screen in a movie theater! Each screening will feature exclusive interviews and never-before-seen content. "Celebrate the milestone anniversary of the beloved sitcom, coming to the big screen for the first time ever!"

"The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding", Warner Bros. A complete list of theater locations will be available August 16 on the Fathom Events website.

The event will be held in more than a thousand theaters in the United States over three nights on September 23, September 28 and October 2.

The episodes are being remastered to look great on movie screens.

Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, Friends debuted on September 22, 1994 and aired for ten seasons. Aniston, Cox and Kudrow reunited in June after Aniston voiced interest in an official reunion.
