Ungrateful son pushes parents' BMW gift into river because he wanted a Jaguar

A 22-year-old man from India was upset that his parents bought him a BMW M3 for his birthday instead of a Jaguar, so he pushed the brand new vehicle into a river.

A man allegedly sank his BMW into a river because he was angry his parents didn't buy him a Jaguar.

"When the youth was plunging the high-end BMW vehicle into the river, he also made a video and put it on social media", a police official was quoted by the Indo-Asian News Service.

The Deccan Herald reported that no charges have been filed against Akash, with officials claiming he has a "mental deficiency" and is now undergoing treatment.

The young man's father told local media that his son had not deliberately driven the vehicle into the river but had swerved to avoid an antelope on the road.

"He kept insisting that he be given a Jaguar, as a BMW is a little small for him and his friends inside", he said.

"We thought there may be somebody in the auto, but when those engaged in rescue operations reached the vehicle they found none inside", a villager said.

The man's father said the BMW was a birthday present.

"We never imagined he would do anything like this".

However, according to The Times of India, the father denied that his son had demanded a Jaguar, and claimed he had accidentally driven the BMW into the river when he swerved to avoid an antelope.

BMW cars cost around 3.5 million rupees ($65,000) locally in India, while Jaguars cost about 4 million to 5 million rupees ($92,000).
