While the two keep details of their romance to a minimum, Delevingne did reflect on her first meeting with Benson in the September issue of Marie Claire. And guess what? They weren't looking for it.

"My dad's coming", she told the magazine ahead of time, her throat apparently clotting with emotion.

"I'm not just talking about sex for sex", Cara, who has accused shamed movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of harassment, explained. "It was really just very authentic and natural".

Delevingne also gets candid about a mental breakdown she had at the age of 15.

"I had no coping skills", she recalls. "Instead of being able to breathe or take a moment, I tried to smash my head into a tree to knock myself out".

The timing is far from bad in her career as she has an upcoming starring role in Carnival Row with Orlando Bloomand, in her words, it's "the first [thing] I've done where I'm really full-blown acting". "I'm talking about experience, whether it's abuse or confusion, positive or negative", she said.

The model-turned actress used to use her work as an "escape" but now she wants to find a better balance between her personal and professional lives. I don't like using it that way anymore.

Cara also spoke about an embarrassing moment in May, when she and the Pretty Little Liars star, 29, were pictured carrying a luxury "sex bench" into a shared home in Hollywood, an incident the 27-year-old said was made public, "Definitely not on goal". "I want to use it as a platform, where I'm not just running from my problems".

In June, Delevingne and the Fairly Little Liars star made their public debut as a pair nearly none 12 months after they started relationship.
