Minutes Before Epstein Story Broke, It Was on 4Chan

Why was Jeffrey Epstein's death on 4chan before it became public?

The billionaire sex offender was found dead in his cell on Saturday morning at the Metropolitan correctional center (MCC) in lower Manhattan.

Almost 40 minutes before the first news report on disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein's death, someone had posted unverified details of it on 4chan, the message board popular with white nationalists, BuzzFeed News is reporting.

The thread was captioned by an image of Pepe, the popular online meme of a green frog. Five more posts followed in an apparent attempt to prove the veracity of the statement amid doubts voiced by other 4chan users, who can make posts anonymously. According to Wesley, the section of the post that reads "telemetry advised bicarb" could be referring to first responders communicating with the hospital while they attempted to resuscitate Epstein.

Emergency medicine physician Dr. Keith Wesley told BuzzFeed News that the 4chan post is laying out standard procedures for paramedics.

The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) rejected assumptions that one of their members made the post.

"The department will review this incident", Gribbon said. The spokesperson did not elaborate on how that determination was made.

BuzzFeed News said the first official report on Epstein's death came in a tweet at 8:54 a.m. from Aaron Katersky, an ABC News correspondent.

In a conversation with Buzzfeed News, Frank Dwyer, a Deputy Commissioner for FDNY, stated that an investigation found that the information on 4chan had not come from a member of the FDNY.

Oren Barzilay, the president of the union for EMT workers Local 2507 in NY, told Buzzfeed News, "Our members do not release this type of confidential information".

"There's serious consequences for those violations".

It's within the realm of possibility the initial poster simply "got lucky" by claiming to have specific knowledge when he or she did, less than an hour before news of Epstein's death became public.

Many of these powerful individuals have flown on Epstein's private plane or attended parties with him.

Trump retweeted a supporting conspiracy theory which attempts to connect the Clintons to Epstein's death.
