Clemson Cheerleader Is Going Viral Before Georgia Tech Game

The Clemson football team will open up the 2019 season tonight against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. With that comes a probable berth in the Tigers' fifth College Football Playoff and a possible fifth consecutive matchup with Alabama.

Etienne was certainly there to lead the Tigers during a lackluster game for Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

It's a familiar changing of the guard: Watching, like, SC battle North Carolina State after work reminds you that it's fall, you're OK, and those coastal elites who went to private schools with no football will never understand. OK, so the tackling was only after he almost threw a pick-six, but he saved said pick-six by putting a shoulder into the interceptor, Tre Swilling, at the Clemson 2-yard line. It was a seven-point play. Before hitting him, Lawrence had to catch up with Swilling, too, again showing those wheels. Maybe a year ago was just a taste, the tip of what is a giant submerged Trevor iceberg, but a season later is now ready to emerge and swallow college football whole.

Breaking in a a spread offense under new head coach Geoff Collins, Georgia Tech experienced mixed success, as would be expected in an opening game that happens to come inside the home of the defending national champions. I know, insane right?

Georgia Tech: The Yellow Jackets have some work to do to get all the option out of their system. Oliver started the game and posted a Paul Johnson-era line of 3-of-9 for 65 yards and two interceptions while rushing 20 times for 56 yards. In fact, on its very first offensive snap of the season, GT chose a quarterback power run. When it did so, it was often not good.

Travis Etienne ran for a career-high 205 yards and three touchdowns, including one from 90 yards out, and No. 1 Clemson overpowered Georgia Tech 52-14 Thursday night for its 16th straight victory. Mason led GT with 72 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. The Louisiana product is a big fan of Popeyes, so maybe it's that new chicken sandwich that has him all jacked up.
