Sheryl Crow Clarifies Her Comment About Taylor Swift's Masters

During an look on Wednesday's Check out What Occurs Stay, the singer was asked about her reaction to the drama surrounding Taylor Swift, Scooter Braun and the ownership of her masters.

When Sheryl appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen this week, the musician gave her opinion on the controversy, stating that Scooter Braun's purchase of Big Machine Records, Taylor's old record label, was just a part of the business.

The 53-year-old said to the host of the television show, "I'm going to be honest with you", adding that she simply doesn't focus on such controversies.

"Some enjoyable details about today's news: I discovered about Scooter Braun's order of my masters as it was introduced to the world", she ongoing. Speaking on the commonalities of the music industry, Sheryl said it wasn't uncommon at all for the ownership of master recordings to change hands all of the time.

Swift was one of Big Machine's first signings when she was a teenager, but when music producer and manager Scooter Braun purchased the label in June, it gave him the masters for her first six albums, which she had been trying to buy back for years.

Hours after Swift said she was "grossed out" by Braun's acquisition of Big Machine Label Group and her catalog, Borchetta responded with his own lengthy statement on the label's website, essentially accusing Swift of bending the truth.

Her Tumblr post also conceded the point that Crow made on WWHL, revealing, 'I made peace with the fact that eventually he would sell them'.

"Nobody knew", Swift said when asked if anyone in her inner circle had been told ahead of time.

Crow released her first record through Big Machine Records, Threads, which was released on August 30.

Crow isn't the only artist who has spoken out about Swift's very public feud and decision to re-record her masters.
