Blues bring Stanley Cup on ice for 2019-20 opener

Monday the Blues players got their Stanley Cup Championship rings and today their biggest fan got a piece of history too.

Alexander Steen brought the Campbell Bowl, supplied to the Western Convention champ, on to the ice and Ryan O'Reilly introduced out the Conn Smythe Trophy he attained as playoff MVP. She was with the team when they won the cup in Game 7 in Boston and celebrated with the team under the Arch as the city honored the team with a victory parade. The celebration would not have been complete without the crowd belting out a loud, final version of Gloria. At that time, the Blues were ranked last in the National Hockey League, but they turned their season around en route to the Cup win, and Anderson's condition started improving around the time the team started winning.

Despite the Cinderella story that they ended up being heading into last year's post-season, St. Louis has cemented itself as a top contender in the divisive Central Division this season.
