According to Shea, evidence of gambling, including card playing, and two firearms were found at the scene. The ages of the deceased range from 32 years old to 49 years old.

At least four were killed and several others were injured when shots were fired at an illegal gambling site at a Brooklyn club Saturday morning, police said.

Officials say the three injured include at least one woman, and that all injuries are serious but not considered to be life-threatening. He said there was no indication that it was a gang-related incident.

According to police, four men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that the shooting took place at 74 Utica Avenue, in the Weeksville neighbourhood of Brooklyn.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately disclosed.

Shea said that among the victims, two were from "out of state" and the remaining five resided in different areas of Brooklyn. He said the building was believed to be a "licensed" premise, but he had no further information. The gambling operation was unlicensed, but police had not previously received any complaints about the location, authorities said.

No arrests have been made.
