Broadway Star Laurel Griggs Dead at 13 From Reported Asthma Attack

An obituary posted to Dignity Memorial indicates she died on November 5, and Griggs' grandfather wrote on Facebook that her death was due to a massive asthma attack. "The world lost a real princess who only wanted to make the future happy for all", he said in a Facebook message. My attractive and talented granddaughter, Laurel Griggs, has passed away suddenly from a massive asthma attack. Heavens Angels wrote on her obituary, "You'll be leading the choir in heaven, and live a thousand lives of joy".

Griggs' family members did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment. She also spent almost two years, between 2013 and 2015, performing as Ivanka in the Tony-award winning Once the Musical and had two uncredited appearances on the long-running NBC late-night sketch series Saturday Night Live in 2017.

Beginning in 2015, Laurel Griggs also developed some TV connections, first doing work on the small screen for Bubble Guppies and then appearing in a small role on Louie. She was also featured in several episodes of Saturday Night Live.

On Friday, actress Eliza Holland Madore took to Instagram to post a tribute to Griggs. "Laurel- you were always smiling and always made other people laugh", Madore wrote. I'm so incredibly grateful I got to know you. "We will never forget this sweet, talented young soul", he said in part.
