Dolphins final injury report vs. Colts in Week 10

Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones will miss his fourth game in a row Sunday at Indianapolis because of a chest injury.

What's not clear is whether Brissett will be ready for Sunday's home game with Miami. It turns out that he won't be available for tomorrow's game. He did restricted work in follow this week, but the Colts didn't rule him out on Friday.

The timing of the announcement is sure to prompt a few questions of how Brissett's injury was handled.

Indianapolis declared that Brissett has been downgraded to out. This means Brian Hoyer will be the starting quarterback against the Dolphins.

Against Pittsburgh in Week 9, Hoyer replaced Brissett and completed 17 of 26 passes for 168 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

The Dolphins are coming off their first gain of the season, but the Colts should be intensely favored in opposition to them - even without Brissett at quarterback.

CB Pierre Desir has been downgraded to Doubtful. If Brissett is inactive on Sunday, then the team could sign practice squad quarterback Chad Kelly to its active roster. Colts also waived large receiver Deon Cain and defensive deal with Kyle Peko. That's about as ideal a situation for Hoyer to make his first start of the season given the circumstances.

The Colts lost Andrew Luck to a surprise retirement in the offseason, but Brissett took over and played well, helping the Colts get into first place in the AFC South at the halfway point of the season.
