Wolves winger Adama Traore, who is eligible to represent Mali, has already played at youth level for Spain.

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore has been named in the latest Spain squad just days after appearing to declare his allegiance for Mali.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation confirmed his withdrawal on Twitter but have yet to announce who will be called up in his place.

Adama has been selected by La Roja coach Robert Moreno as an injury replacement for Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno.

Having been born and raised in Spain to Malian parents, Adama Traore has always been in a position of internal debate as to which country to represent at global level.

He has played 10 times for Wolves in the Premier League this season after coming through Barcelona's "La Masia" youth system and going on to play for the club's B team.

That form has earned him his first call-up to the Spain senior team for their qualifiers against Romania and Malta.
