Forbes crunched the numbers for all the most profitable comic book movies, including 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 1989's Batman, Venom and Deadpool.

As per a Forbes article, the film has grossed $304.2 million in North America after five weeks of its release, bringing up the global total to $953 million.

The new statistic is the latest in a long line of accolades the film is picking up - it's already the highest grossing R-rated movie ever, and has racked up the biggest October box office opening.

According to Forbes, the film will close in on $957 million Dollars at the worldwide box office by the end of today.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham. Of course, Avengers: Endgame is actually the highest grossing movie of all time, but the $2.798 billion grossing blockbuster cost somewhere between $350 million and $400 million to make. That's over 15 times the amount made back on the budget.

Joker also screened at Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival before its opening in United States theatres on 4 October.

Put on a happy face, because Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is the most profitable comic book movie of all time.

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker movie, nonetheless, has left plenty of viewers with many burning questions in regards to the characters and sub-plots. In case the film manages to cross the $1 billion mark worldwide by next week, it will have become the cheapest film to do so.

Once more, this is if you search at Joker's comparatively modest spending plan.
