Since Hauer-King been cast to play one of The Little Mermaid's most important characters, it's a good bet that he will be catapulted to new levels of fame once the world sees him as the new Prince Eric.

English actor Jonah Hauer-King will star alongside Halle Bailey as Ariel in the upcoming film based on the 1989 classic. Miranda is also producing the film with Marshall, Marc Platt and John DeLuca.

The movie will be written by David Magee and directed by Rob Marshall, the report said.

The remake is expected to be released in 2020 and will feature music from the original film as well as new music from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken. Now, the inclusion of Jonah-Hauer as Prince Eric has completed the squad. Her fortunes change when a sea witch named Ursula offers to send Ariel to the human world in exchange for her attractive voice. He now can be seen in the new BBC Series "World on Fire" with Lesley Manville and Helen Hunt. He also has the Blumhouse coming-of-age pic "Once Upon a Time in Staten Island". Other credits include BBC's "Little Women", with Maya Hawke, "Ashes in the Snow" with Danny Huston, and in "Old Boys" with Alex Lawther.

According to Entertainment Weekly Jonah started off in theatre appearing alongside Kenneth Branagh in The Entertainer.

He is repped by CAA and United Agents.
