India Under-19 squad for World Cup 2020 announced Priyam Garg to lead defending champions

India, who are the most successful team in the U-19 World Cup tournament - having won four editions since 1988 - have announced their 15-member squad.

India U19 squad for the tour of South Africa: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Divyaansh Saxena, Priyam Garg (c), Dhruv Chand Jurel (vc & wk), Shashwat Rawat, Divyansh Joshi, Shubhang Hegde, Ravi Bishnoi, Akash Singh, Kartik Tyagi, Atharva Ankolekar, Kumar Kushagra, Sushant Mishra, Vidyadhar Patil, CTL Rakshan. The young Indian brigade will play all the matches in Bloemfontein.

Atharva Ankolekar, another Mumbai player who has also been making headlines, has also named in the touring party.

Talking about the balance in the team and the chances of this team defending their crown, U-19 coach Rahul Dravid sounds optimistic and optimistic while worshiping the picks for a talented side.

In August this year, Garg also led the junior side during the tri-series in England, where India defeated Bangladesh in the finals by six wickets.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyansh Saksena, who were amongst the top five run-getters in the tri-series, have been named in the squad.

The India Under-19 squad couldn't have asked for a better preparation than a bilateral series against South Africa and a quadrangular series featuring South Africa, Zimbabwe and New Zealand's Under-19 teams in South Africa just ahead of the tournament.
