Dinesh Karthik’s Tamil Nadu will take on Manish Pandey’s Karnataka in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy final

Earlier on Sunday, Manish led his state team Karnakata to a thrilling win over Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final in Surat and drove all the way through to Mumbai in the night itself after celebrating the win with his teammates.

Indian cricketer Manish Pandey is all set to get married to actor Ashrita Shetty in Mumbai on Monday.

"Looking forward to the India series, but before that there is another important series for me, I am getting married tomorrow", Pandey said after Karnataka's win.

India will host West Indies this month for three T20Is and as many ODIs.

Meanwhile, Manish Pandey, soon after entering the "husband" club in the Indian team, will have to join the Men in Blue ahead of the T20I series against the West Indies.

Manish and Ashrita's close friends and relatives are expected to be in attendance for the wedding. It will also be interesting to see, how he converts his domestic form with the bat into the worldwide arena.

Karnataka bowlers then produced a fine display of death over bowling to restrict Tamil Nadu to 179/6 in their 20 overs. The two looked watchful and took calculated risks with Rahul hitting Ashwin for a couple of boundaries and Padikkal flicking left-arm pacer Natarajan for a six over square-leg. However, this didn't stop the carnage as the middle-order batsman Rohan Kadam added a 65-run stand with his captain Pandey, who scored his second half-century in the tournament.

Tamil Nadu needed three runs off the last ball but Murugan Ashwin could only manage one as Karnataka captured the title for the second time in a row.

Chasing the target of 181, Tamil Nadu also reached a similar stage of Karnataka as they lost their two wickets at only 37 runs.
