Asian Champions Qatar will face Neymar of Brazil in next year's Copa America after being drawn in Group B of the tournament on Tuesday.

While the draw took place on Tuesday, the nations already knew nearly all of their opponents with teams split into zones for next year's tournament in Argentina and Colombia.

They were drawn in the South Zone and will kick off their campaign in Argentina, with the North Zone games being played in Colombia.

Argentina and Colombia were chosen as hosts after South American football's governing body CONMEBOL turned down an offer from the United States Soccer Federation to hold an expanded 16-team edition of the Copa America.

The 12-team tournament, which runs from June 12 to July 12, will be co-hosted, for the first time, by Colombia and Argentina. Argentina defeated Chile in the third place play-off at this year's tournament.

The top four teams from each group at the 2020 Copa America qualify for the quarterfinals.

No guest nation has won the Copa America, with Mexico coming closest by reaching the final in 1993 and 2001.

Australia will open their tournament against Uruguay on June 13.

They are scheduled to play Paraguay on June 17 in La Plata, Bolivia on June 22 in La Plata again, Argentina on June 26 in Buenos Aires and Chile on June 30 back in Cordoba once more.

Scaloni hopes 32-year-old Messi, who will again be aiming to win his first senior worldwide trophy, plays beyond the 2020 Copa.

The June 12-July 12 tournament is the 47th edition of the Copa America, the oldest global competition in world football.
