Jerry Jones: 'Jason Garrett will be coaching in the NFL' in 2020

There's no coach in the National Football League who's more familiar with the hot seat than Jason Garrett.

The question isn't whether or not Garrett will be a head coach next year.

"Nobody has the exclusive skills to get the job done so that collectively you can win a Super Bowl", Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.

Even by adding that, it's still not an assurance that Garrett will be the guy coaching the Cowboys next year.

Will Garrett be in coaching circles in the National Football League next year? For a little more context, earlier in the interview Jones called Garrett a terrific coach.

But following an embarrassing loss to the Buffalo Bills, Jones began singing a different, more optimistic tune when many thought he would be ready to make an in-season coaching change.

Garrett wouldn't be the first coach to ever get a second chance at running a team, and his work in guiding Dallas to a 13-3 record with a rookie quarterback in 2016 would be intriguing to team's with young starters, such as the Giants with Daniel Jones, or possible the Washington Redskins with Dwayne Haskins. He knows this team better than anybody. I am glad to have him.

Jones admittedly is frustrated with how the Cowboys are playing, considering the perceived talent on the roster.

"We've got four games to play better", Jones said. Out of the total, 24 percent of participating players will represent causes related to health and wellness, 18 percent place emphasis on cancer awareness and prevention, while 17 percent of player causes were youth-focused.

And Garrett is the man to lead them there.

Clarence E. Hill Jr. has covered the Dallas Cowboys as a beat writer/columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram since 1997.

Jerry Jones is keeping Jason Garrett on notice.
