Oshawa Generals reschedule "Teddy Bear Toss" game for Thursday

The world-famous event sees fans throw stuffed animals onto the ice following the team's first goal of the game.

The Hershey Teddy Bear Toss donations are shared among 40 local charities in collaboration with local charity Community Aid and TV channel abc27 News. He scored in the first period to unlaod madness, stuffed animals being chucked from every direction imaginable.

Those bears will be donated to more than 70 agencies this holiday season including the Salvation Army, the Calgary Food Bank and Siksika Nation.

"IT'S RAINING STUFFED ANIMALS IN CHOCOLATE TOWN!" commentators cheered.

In all, Bears staff counted 45,650 toys, from huggable teddies to a enormous stuffed sloth that waded down the stands like a crowd surfer.

The toys will be split among 40 central Pennsylvania charities, the team said. CommunityAid will donate 25 cents per stuffed animal to the Children's Miracle Network.

And it looks like the brief interruption to Sunday night's game helped the team out.
