Trump Holds Private Meeting with UK's Boris Johnson

LABOUR accused Donald Trump ytoday of having a "passing relationship with reality and the truth", after the United States president made an unconvincing U-turn on the NHS.

Trump praised Johnson as "very capable" but declined to repeat his previous criticism of Labour's left-wing leader Jeremy Corbyn, who he once said would be bad for Britain. Johnson has denied the allegations.

Corbyn, whose party is trailing Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservatives in the polls ahead of a December 12 election, has sought to make Britain's much-loved National Health Service (NHS) a key battleground in the vote.

Johnson is campaigning for re-election on a promise to get Britain out of the European Union next month, more than three years after the 2016 Brexit referendum.

Speaking at a rally in Birmingham, shadow chancellor John McDonnell said "all the evidence" points to the health service being on the table in trade talks with Washington.

"I'm going to be photographed with every possible leader", he insists, and later poses with the president for an official welcome alongside North Atlantic Treaty Organisation chief Jens Stoltenberg.

He has held up a new U.S. trade deal as one of the prizes of Brexit but has faced accusations from Labour that this will open up the much loved NHS to USA firms.

He challenged weird comments made by Mr Trump on Tuesday, when he insisted that his country wouldn't want the NHS "even if it was served on a silver platter".

The President, along with other world leaders, will be hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace later Tuesday evening.

Trump confirmed the meeting in an early morning tweet.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, he announced." an amused Trudeau declares in the footage, adding: "You just watched his team's jaw drop to the floor".
