Van Basten, who was Ballon d'Or victor three times during a glittering career, was then suspended until 7th December, with his wages for that week donated to the Netherlands Institute for War Documentation. He's in a spot of bother following his comments on a Dutch Fox Sports TV segment where he said, "Sieg Heil" after the camera had cut away from him.

Although Van Basten is long retired, some legendary players are still available to play with on the game, including the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Didier Drogba and Ronald Koeman. In the game he is a coveted Icon card for use in Ultimate Team.

If you have Marco van Basten - who has 89, 91 and 93 rated cards in Federation Internationale de Football Association 20 Ultimate Team, you can continue to use him.

Players who log in will receive a message from EA, shared by Twinfinite, explaining that van Basten is also no longer available in FIFA Ultimate Team packs, FUT drafts or squad building challenges.
