Sundar Pichai as Alphabet CEO Means $2 Billion for Departing Google Co-Founders

Google is in the midst of some far-reaching changes at the top order, what with both the company co-founders - Larry Page and Sergey Brin - calling it a day.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai testifies before U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee during a hearing "Transparency & Accountability: Examining Google and its Data Collection, Use and Filtering Practices" on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., the United States, on December 11, 2018.

That's because Pichai has largely been the face of the company since he was promoted to become the CEO of Google back in 2015, when the company underwent a corporate restructure that placed the search giant under the Alphabet umbrella.

The way we see it, Alphabet's problems are now Pichai's problems and what seems to be another attempt by Page and Brin to evade the "heavy lifting" as Fortune's Aaron Pressman and Adam Lashinsky so brilliantly laid out in their rendition of Page and Brin's announcement.

Hate speech, harassment, privateness Recognized for his Lanvin sneakers and easygoing type, Sundar steps into his new position as antitrust enforcers in Washington, Brussels and elsewhere are stepping up their scrutiny of Google, which is the web's dominant search engine and likewise the maker of the main Android cellular working system.

"It's impossible to overstate Larry and Sergey's contributions over the past 21 years".

"I don't understand the Alphabet structure", Greengart said.

For so many years, they were two prominent figures, not only in Alphabet and Google but across all the Silicon Valley. Its ad revenue stream is showing signs of stagnations after years of growth, which means the Other Bets such as Waymo and Verily will have to deliver and fill the gap to ensure revenue growth remains intact. "Some of our "Other Bets" have their own boards with independent members, and outside investors", they wrote. The move is driven to "simplify our management structure", they wrote, adding that "Sundar brings humility and a deep passion for technology to our users, partners and our employees every day..."

"...we plan to continue talking with Sundar regularly, especially on topics we're passionate about", they said.

Greengart stated placing Pichai answerable for each Alphabet and Google could also be an acknowledgement that the 2015 reorganisation was a mistake and that the assorted operations should be extra tightly built-in. He joined the Board of Directors of Alphabet, Google's parent company, in July 2017.

Under his leadership as CEO, Google has been focused on developing products and services, powered by the latest advances in AI, that offer help in moments big and small.

Born within the southern India metropolis of Chennai, Pichai studied engineering on the Indian Institute of Know-how (IIT) in Kharagpur earlier than heading to the US. "I'm looking forward to continuing to work with Larry and Sergey in our new roles", Pichai said.

"Thanks to them, we have a timeless mission, enduring values, and a culture of collaboration and exploration".

"It's a strong foundation on which we will continue to build".
