Nonetheless, we're told that customers around the world are now in the process of speccing their vehicles, selecting unique colour and trim combinations which will make their example of the already-limited machine that much more unique again.

Nissan teamed up with the Turin-based design firm to create the model (based on the GT-R Nismo), in commemoration of the 50th anniversaries of both GT-R and Italdesign. The GT-R50 builds further upon the powertrain from that vehicle, where the VR38DETT biturbo V6 engine gains larger GT3-specification turbochargers, larger intercoolers, higher-flow injectors and optimised ignition, intakes and exhaust. Only 50 units will be produced and that makes it even more attractive to collectors. Nissan says those who have ordered the auto are in the process of selecting personal specifications for the vehicle. "Their experience with the GT-R50 has been incredible and I can say first-hand that each auto will certainly be a standalone masterpiece".

Sounds like they shouldn't have any problem selling those remaining build slots, then! It appears that it has had some orders for the vehicle, but the entire run isn't sold out. It is five times more expensive that GT-R Nismo. It will produce a healthy 710bhp and 575 lb-ft.

Power goes to all four wheels through a reinforced dual-clutch sequential six-speed gearbox and beefed-up differentials.

Customers are now choosing their personal specifications for their new cars, with the first production cars being revealed properly at the Geneva Motor Show in March and deliveries starting late 2020 subject to certification and homologation. The shipments will not begin until much later in 2020 and end in late 2021. Price of Nissan GT-R50 By Italdesign is €990,000 ($1.12 million). The rest of us will just have to keep on waiting for a new version of the standard auto.
