A banana duct taped to a wall - which sold for over $100k in Miami on behalf of a renowned artist - is now in the belly of another man. but apparently, it's no big deal. "I couldn't figure out how to finish it", he told Art Net News.

In fact, Cattelan has already sold two iterations of this piece, titled "Comedian", at this price and is expected to sell another one for $ 150,000. David Datuna made a last supper out of the fruit, er, artwork, the Miami Herald reported.

On Instagram, he called his performance "Hungry Artist" and posted some aftermath footage of what appears to be gallery personnel sitting him down to take his info.

The gallery reported the incident to safety, however Datuna slipped away, the outlet reported. Said spokesman Lucien Terras to the newspaper. Based on what we can tell, this is actually a no-no. the banana is NOT supposed to be tampered with. although the fruit itself is allowed to be replaced on a continuous basis as needed.

"He did not destroy the artwork".

The idea soon lived on, with a fresh banana affixed by Perrotin minutes later. "It brings a smile to a lot of people's faces". They also have trouble understanding the reasoning behind someone who has paid $ 120,000 U.S. because the room consists only of a real banana stuck to a wall.

"It's not about the piece". It's an art performance.

The piece, titled "The Comedian", was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, who is behind an 18-carat gold toilet offered to President Trump earlier this year. One artist eats another artist.
