Meghan Markle's First Interview After Royal Exit: Duchess To Snub Oprah

Royal insider denies claims Meghan Markle is set for a tell-all interview with Ellen DeGeneres

Royal insider denies claims Meghan Markle is set for a tell-all interview with Ellen DeGeneres

Reports emerged on Friday claiming that Meghan would soon be sitting down with the chat show host for an interview.

.

"Now, I don't know her, but Ellen goes 'Is that your dog?' And I said, 'No, ' and she's like, 'You have to take that dog.' And I said, 'Well, I'm deciding.' And she's like, 'Rescue the dog!' " Meghan recalled the conversation that the two had in Best Health.

DeGeneres also spent time with Prince Harry, Meghan, and Baby Archie during her summer trip to the United Kingdom.

However, a royal source told PEOPLE that any plans for Meghan to be interviewed by Ellen (or any interviewer) are "categorically untrue".

The couple has been a fixture in headlines recently after announcing their decision to live independently of the royal family.

Speaking further, the source said: "Meghan adores Ellen and loves the fact that she and [her wife] Portia are huge animal lovers". That she epitomizes authenticity. "That's been in the works for quite some time now", an insider who works for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" revealed.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have kept relatively silent since revealing that they meant to step away from their senior duties within the British royal family.

Since the Sussexes' shock split from the Royal Family earlier this month, Meghan has been away from the drama in Canada, where she has been looking after eight-month-old son Archie and continuing to work with the organisations she supports.
