Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few days, you are probably familiar with the challenge of the viral broom that has affected the Internet.

While the alleged NASA tweet doesn't exist, the broom challenge isn't entirely a lie.

Rumors were circulating that the Broom challenge is only possible on certain days of the year including February 10th, 2020, due to shifts in the earth's gravitational pull.

It does not seem that NASA has said something like that, and now the agency is cleaning up the problem. "Post your broom pics", one user wrote with a photo of their broom standing up.

"Not trying to burst your bubble, but it's just the stiffness of the bristles that makes the broom stand", Phillips explained on social media. Noble question. "Well, it turns out you can do it again today".

And Drew replies: "It's just physical".

So, can you make your broom stand alone? A user wrote in a caption, "now that I have stood my broom upright, I am waiting for it to start sweeping the ground on its own".

According to CNN (and, you know, the laws of physics), the center of gravity is low on a broom and rests directly over the bristles.

Whether everyone grasped the science behind it, though, plenty of people have been more than eager to show off their own broomstick challenge success stories.
