Atlanta DA weighing murder probe into James Brown’s 2006 death

A woman named Jacque Hollander contacted Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard's office to request a meeting, claiming Brown's death was caused by another person, according to the prosecutor's spokesman Chris Hopper.

A spokesperson for the DA's office said it would be "inappropriate to discuss" next steps in the process at this time, and stressed that no investigation is now underway, but simply a "review of evidence". Hollander also alleges that Brown's third wife, Adrienne, who died in 1996, was murdered.

One year ago, CNN published an explosive report detailing allegations of foul play in the death of James Brown, who passed away December 25, 2006 at the age of 73. But Marvin Crawford, the doctor who signed that certificate, said in a 2017 interview with CNN that he'd always wondered what brought on those events-and whether Brown's sudden death had been caused by a toxic substance. But he died that night, and I did raise that question: "What went wrong in that room?"
