Royal Challengers Bangalore unveil ‘bold and fearless’ new logo ahead of 13th IPL season

After the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) unveiled their new logo ahead of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), franchise skipper Virat Kohli on Friday reacted to the same by saying that he is thrilled to see the embodiment of bold pride and challenger spirit in it.

A few days back RCB deleted its profile picture from its official Twitter handle before removing all posts from its Instagram account too.

Virat Kohli, who leads Royal Challengers Bangalore, was shocked after the franchise removed their profile picture and posts from various social media accounts.

Royal Challengers Bangalore recently announced a three-year partnership with Muthoot Fincorp Ltd. While some fans obviously liked the new sleek logo, there were jokes aplenty; some of them brutal.

Speaking on the launch of the new visual identity, Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of RCB, said "The idea behind the design of the new brand identity to give our rampant lion a contemporary makeover".

There was intense speculation that the team will change its name from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru to suit the local taste and they may also unveil a new team jersey but both remained just that - a speculation.

"Cool logo. Looks like my bowling action as well".

For now, however, Kohli's focus will be on the longest format of the game with his Indian team preparing to take on New Zealand in a two-Test series starting on February 21. The right-arm pacer had a poor ODI series where he could not pick up single wicket as India suffered a whitewash in the three-match series.
