No yelling. No tirade.

Tyrese Maxey scored 25 points, and 12th-ranked Kentucky rallied from their biggest halftime deficit this season to beat Vanderbilt 78-64 Tuesday night.

"He's a confident kid", Calipari said of Quickley last month. "Like I said, that's something we do with our guys and guys come here to be coached that way, and I think you see that with, not only with Vanderbilt but you see that across the country with teams that are getting better". Ashton Hagans, Tyrese Maxey, and Immanuel Quickley played fast and remained in attack mode throughout the second half.

"He was real calm", Hagans said of Calipari. "You know, we came out there and just we were the aggressor in the second half and we were just trying to get the win". Kentucky is tied for first in the SEC standings with an 8-2 record in conference play with Auburn and LSU, while Vanderbilt is 1-9.

The Wildcats also won their eighth straight over Vanderbilt, though this was the fifth time in this streak that they've had to rally from a double-digit deficit.

Immanuel Quickley also had 18 points, Nick Richards had 12 and Hagans finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds in Calipari's 400th career game at Kentucky. Kentucky's coaching staff has been impressed with Jerry Stackhouse's ability to guide the Commodores through treacherous waters in his first season at the helm. "We've just got to be prepared, stay locked in with each other, go out there and play them like it's any other game and just stay locked in". We got out of the gym alive when they came here.

WINLESS WHEN: Vanderbilt is 0-11 this year when it scores 70 points or fewer and 9-3 when it scores at least 71. Dylan Disu had 12 points and 10 rebounds, Scotty Pippen Jr. had 13 and Maxwell Evans 10.

Prior to the team's win over LSU, the Commodores had lost their previous 28 games against conference foes, including 26 consecutive regular-season games in the league. The Wildcats are 7-11 ATS in the second meeting having defeated the team in the first game and 7-14 ATS if they failed to cover the spread in the first meeting.

Kentucky ranks 23rd in steals allowed per game (5.0) while Vanderbilt ranks 48th (5.5). It was the first Vanderbilt duo to score 30 or more points in a game since Jeff Fosnes (39) and Butch Feher (34) vs. Jacksonville on 12.21.74.

Kentucky followed its worst offensive half of the season with its best on Tuesday night in Nashville.

Vanderbilt came out on fire in the first half, shooting 8/17 (47.1%) from three, taking a 36-27 lead into the half. Pippen is second in assists with 3.7/game. Over that span, he's averaging 17.8 points per game, has scored 20-or-more points five times and has made 46.9 percent of his three-point shots.

40-20 - Kentucky's scoring advantage in the paint.

Aaron Nesmith #24 of the Vanderbilt Commodores celebrating. Maxey was 10 of 17. So you have to understand. "I've been all over this and all over him and not settling, so that was a good sign".

The Cats host Ole Miss next on Saturday at 2 p.m.in Rupp Arena.

Vanderbilt starts a two-game road swing Saturday at Florida.
